Faith renders the purest worship to God that can be offered.

How strange it is that there is such a slowness in our souls to trust, and, even after we have begun, to believe all.

There was a defect in the faith of many who came to Christ to be healed. But it was not the strength of their faith Christ looked to, but the reality of it; and they got the cure, though the hand that touched Him trembled.

I see more reason to be humble before other believers, however far behind they may sometimes seem, for that one spark of faith maybe kindled into a bright flame any moment, and then with Christ for the fuel of the fire, O how these souls that seem now so low and feeble will burn and shine in the Kingdom of God!

Christ is not censorious. He comes to see if He can find just a grain of faith in your heart, and that pleases Him well.

Thinking of the few that seem to advance in grace, was cheered by this, that touching even the hem of His garment is salvation.

For about two weeks past, ever since I read a passage in Guthrie's Saving interest, i have had a joyful, secret hope, that I really have believed on the Lord Jesus. If now, at length I have reached a place of safety, it is solely through divine grace. I did nothing but receive.

"It is to show the exceeding riches of His grace," that the Lord gives a whole eternity of blessedness to the man who like, the dying thief, has only been leaning on him for a few hours."

"Divine grace pays everything, and gives us the benefit of all."

"We are asked to accept this salvation, to let love into our heart, without shedding a tear, except it be a tear of love and gratitude."

"Unbelief is just pushing away the hand that comes to offer us gifts."

"A hearty receiver of God's gifts is welcome above all others to His presence."

"As many as Christ receives, God receives them."

"The Lord is so anxious to bless you that He will reward you for leaning on Him. He will reward you for having confidence in Him. He will reward you for coming to drink of the Living Water."

" 'He giveth grace to the Humble' to those who do not come with a price in their hand, who simply expect it as a gift. He giveth grace to the lowly, who give Him nothing, who bring their empty vessels and say, 'Lord fill them!'"

"The work of Christ is the open door for the sinner, but Christ himself stands behind, waiting to welcome him."

" 'Justified by faith' is the way we get hold of Him; by His grace, is the way He gets hold of us.'"

"O men and brethren, look at that cross and listen to what it says: He that hath the Son, hath life.' I often think when the Lord is thus pressing you to accept Christ, that He has not only stood at the door and knocked, but He has, as it were, opened the door a little, to try to persuade you!"

"If Caesars penny has Caesars image, and superscription, this Ransom money has the stamp of God-head and that is freely."

"A child does not ask 'How am I to take the gift?' but 'Is it for me?'

"He has pardon for you; and the moment you touch that pierced hand and say, 'I have come for the payment' you get forgiveness."

"One day is enough, for any man's salvation."
